Join this stitch resist dyeing workshop and discover how traditional techniques can create beautifully intricate, design-led patterns – no two pieces will be the same.
In this hands-on session, you'll learn a method inspired by heritage practices from Yunnan, where these skills have been refined and passed down through generations. By carefully stitching and gathering fabric before dyeing, you'll control the flow of colour to reveal detailed, intentional designs that are a sophisticated step up from the tie-dye you might remember from your childhood. You'll have high-quality fabric pieces to work with during the class, which can later be made into items like cushion covers. Alternatively, you can choose to dye a plain tote bag so you leave with a finished, ready-to-use piece on the day.
If you'd like to personalise something you already own, you're very welcome to bring along your own small textile item (100% cotton works best) to experiment with, such as:
  • A lightweight garment
  • An apron
  • A natural-fibre fabric piece
This experience is about more than just the finished item; it's a chance to slow down, experiment, and reconnect with your creative side in a relaxed, social setting. Whether you're planning a hen do, a birthday, a team event, or just want a creative escape, you'll find it's a supportive environment to learn something new.
Because every stitch placement is personal, you'll find the process incredibly rewarding. You'll head home with a stylish, intricate, and completely one-of-a-kind textile piece that serves as a beautiful memento of your new-found skills.

Craft has always been part of my life, but it became something deeper when I found myself working in a corporate job and craving a creative outlet. Making time to create became my escape, a way to switch off, reset and reconnect with something tangible. Now, I’m passionate about helping others rediscover what craft can do for them. It’s not just about making something, it’s about switching off, experimenting, surprising yourself and walking away with a real sense of pride.
While travelling in Yunnan, I learned a traditional tie dye technique with a history stretching back centuries. In this region, dyeing methods have been passed down through generations, rooted in careful craftsmanship and cultural identity. It completely changed how I saw textile craft. The patterns were intricate, intentional, and beautifully refined, a world away from the messy versions many of us tried as kids.
In my workshops, I create space for people to explore their creativity in a relaxed, social way. The beauty of tie dye is that no two pieces are ever the same. Each person leaves with something completely one of a kind. It’s stylish, modern and uniquely yours.
Whether it’s a hen do, birthday or group event, my aim is simple: help you reconnect with creativity and realise you’re far more creative than you think.
